Automata: Don't Love Me (Chapter 3c)

The moment he comes to the café, it isn’t that crowded and no one from the group isn’t here yet. Well, it’s a Monday and usually only he and Eunhyuk come to the café at this kind of day and even time. Some just drops by for a moment but usually it’s only in Friday and weekends when they are complete. And that reminds him, he wonders if Eunhyuk has been here.xml:namespace prefix = o /
“Hyunwoo-ah…” He calls one the part-timers who greets him with a curt nod and a smile. “Did Eunhyuk come here?” He asks.
“No, though Nino hyung just came here awhile ago but he left too and says he’ll be back by evening.” Hyunwoo replies and Jaejoong give a nod. “Oh, I’m on the afternoon Jaejoong hyung so I dunno if he came this morning. Though can I get you anything hyung or you’ll be serving too?” Hyunwoo asks and Jaejoong shakes his.
“Don’t worry, I’ll just get myself a pastry. Thanks.” Jaejoong says and let Hyunwoo go to attend on some customers. He has brought his camera with him so he might try food photography. He then remember Nino telling him to take pictures again of some of their specialty in the menu since they’ll be changing the graphics they’ll use for the menu so he might take some pictures as well.
“Afternoon, soulmate…” greets Yoochun when he comes to the counter and Jaejoong greets back.
“Afternoon, soulmate~” Jaejoong greets with a grin. Yoochun is same age as most of them. They have many similarities to the point they started calling each other soul mates. (They even share a somewhat similar hairstyle. Although Yoochun’s has some symmetrical issues when it comes to the bangs part.) While others doesn’t bother with that set-up of them, Yunho thinks otherwise and Jaejoong laugh at it saying he shouldn’t be jealous and assures him, he is still his very best friend and it seems to satisfy the angry bear.
“You’ll be taking pictures for the new menu layout?” Yoochun asks when he sees Jaejoong with a camera and Jaejoong thinks for a while before answering.
“I was thinking of that but I dunno… “
“Shouldn’t you be doing that in the studio and we’ll just bring the food there.”
“I thought I should try taking pictures of where we keep it, you know together with the package and stuff.” Jaejoong supplies, still undecided how he’ll actually take the pictures of their pastries for the new menu. He then heads behind the counter to check on things and where he should take angles from. Yoochun observes for a while and shrugs. He goes back to the book he has been reading while there isn’t anyone yet ordering.
Jaejoong on the other hand finally decides, maybe he’ll ask Nino first before taking pictures and also maybe Donghae, since the younger one has things for running business and how to promote it. And that reminds him, “Yoochun-ah..”
“Hmmm?”
“You’re shift is whole day right?”
“Yeah.” Yoochun replies and finally lifts his eyes away from the book he is reading.
“Did Eunhyuk come here?”
“Nope, no sign of him since morning I opened the shop.” Yoochun replies making Jaejoong to pout at that. Now he is really worried. Usually when it’s Monday, Eunhyuk is the first one to be here than him. Maybe Donghae’s coming back really has a big impact and he is sad he can’t do anything to help Eunhyuk somehow.
“You’re looking like that again.”
“Looking like what?”
“Like you’re useless and can’t help anyone.”
“But I-“ Jaejoong doesn’t continue anymore when Yoochun raises an eyebrow along his direction.
“Don’t try to deny.”
And Jaejoong doesn’t try. Now everything comes back to him… Nino’s revelation having no parents (and clearly he doesn’t understand what his Nino hyung has meant with that), Yunho’s dispute against his own father and then Eunhyuk’s state now that Donghae has come back after five years.
He knows he isn’t Superman or some physic whatever who helps everyone but he wants to do something and he can’t help feeling like that. It’s just that if feels like all his life he is dependent to everyone, and no one can’t be dependent to him, even Yunho who always have been with him.
He has known Yunho all his life. Well, that’s what he believes in anyways. Ever since after the accident, when he has felt lost, Yunho has becomes his anchor. Everyone around him becomes his relief and because of that, he feels he is like a parasite whose only work is to take away something but he can’t give back much.
And then he sees Yoochun’s book, Frankenstein, a monster that is brought to life for just an experiment, who doesn’t have mind to think straight and only his creator as his guide.
One way or another, Jaejoong feels he is somewhat like that. Because no matter how everyone says he is Kim Jaejoong, he still questions his own identity.
“Interested with the book?” Yoochun breaks his trance and looks away to the book he unconsciously stares at.
“Huh?”
“I said, are you interested the book?” Yoochun asks again and this time there’s inquiry in his looks. Jaejoong’s looks at Yoochun, a bit dazed and then smiles with a shrugs as he fiddles with his camera just to satisfy the lack of doing anything right that moment. It isn’t that he’s guilty of staring at Yoochun’s book. Hell, it isn’t even a crime to do so, he just don’t know to respond.
“Great imagination I must say but then it isn’t that far from reality.” Yoochun says and Jaejoong nods with that. He remembers vague the story of Frankenstein being somewhat an experiment, a dead person brought to life with mechanics and science thus making it a monster-like especially how the creator can use the said creation for destruction but and with technology these days, it’s really not far from reality just like what Yoochun says.
“Who would know that there are those who exist, blending with everyone without problem except their identities.”
Jaejoong finally looks up towards Yoochun, once again in dazed towards the barista serves customers who have arrived.

There was a cling in the bells alerting new comers and when Jaejoong looks at the table, he sees Eunhyuk with Nino, laughing together. He lets Yoochun handles the customers as he goes to them.
“Ow, you beat me coming here first.” Eunhyuk pouts and Jaejoong is taken back but doesn’t show and grins.
“Yeah, bet I am.”
“Sorry to disappoint you, I was here first before you guys even have come here.” Nino objects, raising his eyebrows and up and down.
“And I thought you forgotten, hyung.” Jaejoong points and receives a flick of finger in his forehead.
“Ow!” Jaejoong whines. Forget that Nino is shorter than any of them, this guy could really land any hits.
Eunhyuk laughs and just shakes his head and then excuses his self, “I better go and help. Ryeowook will be ending his shift and it’s already late in the afternoon and surely students will flock here again.” He says and goes towards the office to get change. Nino and Jaejoong observes Eunhyuk’s retreating figure and when Eunhyuk is out of earshot range, Jaejoong finally speaks.
“Have you talk to him, hyung?” Jaejoong asks, sounding more worried. Nino sighs and then shakes his head.
“I was heading back here when he sees me on his way here. He doesn’t mention anything about the Friday incident and I don’t want to push him.” Nino answers and Jaejoong does understand. “Don’t worry Jae, Eunhyuk is a strong person and if we want everything to be better, they should take the initiative because we may not know when they are really ready.” Nino assures him and Jaejoong can only nod at that and then…
Toink!
Jaejoong removes the apron which beautifully covering his head and when he can properly see his surroundings by removing it down, his hair strands sticking in different direction in the process, he finally glares at the direction where it came from.
“I thought you might need it.” Eunhyuk says who is standing by the counter with a laughing Yoochun at side and is fixing the tie of his apron. After securing the tie is knotted together, he lets out his gummy smile feigning innocence while grabbing a round tray, showing it to him, his smile implying something.
“On contrary, I think that was your best look so far.” Nino comments to him and walks away.
“Hyung!!!” Jaejoong protest but he does follow Nino towards the counter as he fix the apron in him and also his hair. It is getting crowded in the café already.

I’m back!!! How is everyone? Hmm… I dunno what is wrong with LJ but I can't post right to the point I have to separate this in 3 posts? I mean I was able to post an 8k+ words post before without cutting it but now, this is only 5k+ words yet I still have to seperate the chapter. LJ is confusing me.
Anyways, good thing I still manage to insert this since I have a lot of shooting to do and plate to finish. But oh well! It’s worth it XD although I can’t seem share it anyone who is visible. (LOL, I only see silent readers and invisible guests… hahahaha~)
Sorry, I can’t help but insert HanChul (Hankyung and Heechul) and it’s just that if there’s Jaejoong in a story, I want Heechul as well to be there even if just a minor character. Yoochun’s character is intimidating neh? Nyahahahahaha~
As I have said in the last chapter, this will have at least 25 chapters. And men, I’m crying already with the clash of the fandom but I’m really enjoying this. I’m crazy right? *grins*
