Synopsis: Can a couple in game be a couple in real life?

Chapter Summary: Kyuhyun remembers how he met Sungmin and fell in love. He thought everything was in place until someone greeted him in the morning that he didn’t expect. Donghae on the other hand was new to the school. For his love for dancing, he tried to join Seoul Breakers, letting him meet their captain which gains his interest.

Author's Notes: I started this fic 2 years ago, (January 6, 2012) in SJ-World. Since it will be ending soon with one more chapter to go, I decided to re-post it here in livejournal. Level 3 Part 1: Reality Check (Kyuhyun’s POV)

The next morning,
I woke up again. Stretching my arms and such, I started my day with normal stuffs. I glance to my side finding my handphone, got it and scanned. A message from Minnie came up...

Good Morning Kyunie~ 
How’s your sleep?
Eat breakfast before going to school.
See yah~ Love yah~ 

Ah, my Minnie... so sweet... I’m so lucky I started playing Audition. Well, it’s normal for me to play computer games but it’s the first time I played something like that. Usually I play Starcravt, Counter Strike, Flyff, and so on. Name a game, I already have an account but then Audition is the game I wouldn’t play in a million years until that dare.


2 weeks before my college days starts,
I’m here again in Sapphire Pearl Café, and now I’m playing Flyff for now. I just played it for 2 weeks and I’m already lvl. 27. Nice huh? I’m really good these games. It’s just a piece of cake. Today, I was playing with Kibum, a friend of mine who migrated to America now. He was a guild member of us and we still keep contact especially in games.

snowman: I’ll play audition for now. See you tomorrow…
gamekyu23: come on, I see giant Flybat, we can surely beat it.
snowman: but my couple is waiting for me…
gamekyu23: couple?
snowman: yeah. I met a girl in the game, and guess what? 
gamekyu23: wat?
snowman: we’re in a relationship now. I’ve seen her and she’s so pretty…
gamekyu23: Jinja? Unbilivable?
snowman: yeah.. why don’t you try.. it’s fun and you might find love too…
gamekyu23: I’ll pass… That audition is boring, just dancing and nothing much…
snowman: or you just can’t press that arrow keys fast enough…
gamekyu23: YAH!
snowman: come on, if you can make your lvl hir in flyff like that in 2 weeks..
snowman: even though It’s quite impossible but still… 
snowman: I think audition is pretty easy for you…
gamekyu23: dat’s why I don’t play it becoz no trill
snowman: come on, u have all accounts in games except that. 
snowman: it’s quite dsapointing dat gamekyu doesn’t have 1 of the most popular games…
gamekyu23: Aish!
snowman: I dare u! All else, I’ll tell them all.. it will lower ur status as gamekyu!
gamekyu23: fine fine!



Remind me again why I’m registering for this game again? Aish. Nevermind! That man is dead to me if my reputation is ruined because of this.  Aish! I tried the tutorials, totally a piece of cake. Tch. Entering the Da Halo server, quite a few of people. Hmm, this is boring. Boring! I just randomly click a room and there I went in. Choreography? Tch. It’s pretty easy. First game, it was a perfect game without a miss. See I told you, I’m good at everything. For the last 3 hours of sitting there, I didn’t know I’m already in level 5. Well, what do you expect of Game Kyu?  I’m the master aren’t I? But then why do I still play this game? Dunno! Just go for it. After all if I’ll be a playing, I should be at least level 30 plus before leaving the game completely right? Tch.

After 2 weeks,
I was walking home alone since Hyuk hyung has a dance try out, he wanted to join the Seoul Breakers. Well, hyung never miss out when it comes to dancing. Maybe I should have introduce him Audition? Nah~ I’m going to leave that game soon. I just introduce him games that I really like. Take Starcraft for example.

Ah, we’re college already. I can’t believe it. Time sure flies. Hmm, why does the road seems familiar? Oh, Sapphire Pearl Cafe, hmmm. We still don’t have assignments yet so make as well level up that Audition game so I can leave it already.

I’m already level 14, a Freedom to be exact. And as long I’m playing this, I think it grows on me. I’m liking it a bit but still I’ll leave this after at least I reach Lvl. 31. I went to the café and entered it. I asked Heechul hyung, who is the owner of the shop if my spot is still open. He said yes and I went there.

While waiting for Audition to Load, I remember Kibum’s words.

snowman: yeah. I met a girl in the game, and guess what? 
gamekyu23: wat?
snowman: we’re in a relationship now. I’ve seen her and she’s so pretty…
gamekyu23: Jinja? Unbilivable?
snowman: yeah.. why don’t you try.. It’s fun and you might find love too…

I wonder? I click on an Air Flare server. I know the room titles’ name that is colored orange is for Club dance and I know that it has a bit Couple dance right? Hm.. well, with my character’s trendy look, and I’m quite the ladies man here in this game. What you expect from Cho Kyuhyun? Brains, talented and handsome even in my characters in games. Hehehe. Anyways…

I search in the profiles of the girls in that room and it seems like… all of them… have a couple already. Aish! Hold it, except I guess for this 11pinkpumpkin girl. She seems decent. Only a Novice Lvl. 8 but cute and she sure loves pink.

The game started, and as expected the four are already paired up.

gamekyu23: so I gues we’ll be paired up.
11pinkpumpkin: uhm yeah…
gamekyu23: hi, I’m kyu…
11pinkpumpkin: just call me min… ^^
gamekyu23: still no couple?
11pinkpumpkin: uhm ,yeah… -^_^-
gamekyu23: ah…

She missed in lvl 8 of couple part…

11pinkpumpkin: oops sorry..
gamekyu23: gwenchana..

As the game goes on, I felt a lot easier with her. She was really shy yet friendly. She greeted everyone who came and who goes out. 

gamekyu23: Min…
11pinkpumpkin: ye?
gamekyu23: let’s play alone…
11pinkpumpkin: sure.. 

We both exited the room and then went to the lobby. I created a room and invited her there. We talked a lot while playing. For the first time in playing, I felt happy. Really happy I could say. Even though we just talked in the game, it felt she’s right beside me and talking to me face to face.

11pinkpumpkin: Ooops, I got to go soon…
gamekyu23: wae?
11pinkpumpkin: it’s already 8:30, we’ve been playing for 6 hours already…
gamekyu23: so you didn’t want to play with me?
11pinkpumpkin: aniyo, it’s just that still have things to do. 
11pinkpumpkin: I actually had a lot of fun.
gamekyu23: same here… can I play with you tomorrow again?
11pinkpumpkin: sure why not… Just text me when you’re in the game already…
gamekyu23: sure..
11pinkpumpkin: 000-XXXXXXXXX
gamekyu23: thanks.. nice meeting you min…
11pinkpumpkin: nice meeting you too Kyunnie~

Kyunnie? How could it be so cute coming from her! 

Okay, get your composure back Co Kyuhyun!

Like her, I exited Audition too and even the computer. I log out and pay to Heechul hyung. Going home, I feel like a idiot smiling to myself while walking . But what can I do? For the first time, Audition made my day and it became a game I look upon on playing again tomorrow.

I’m playing, let’s meet at Air Flare 6 

Send! Yeap, I came again to Sapphire Pearl Café and played with her. It became a daily basis for me to play Audition after school. One time, I met Hankyung hyung, he was playing Audition too. I waited for Minnie to come. Hm. Kyunie likes Minnie.. hehe. After that, we were playing again this time with Hankyung hyung.

“You know, you two should couple up. You two look cute.” Hankyung hyung suggested. I was really planning on doing that. We’ve known each other for like a month now in this game. I wonder if I can meet her someday.

gamekyu23: Minnie, can I ask a question?
11pinkpumpkin: Am I Minnie? How cute! Sure…
gamekyu23: can you be my couple?
11pinkpumpkin: omo…
gamekyu23: well, if you only like… but I was hoping…
11pinkpumpkin: how can I refuse! 

Of course, with a couple game, we became an official couple. Well, that is in the game. But I was hoping it would be more. Finally, I asked her when we are left alone.

gamekyu23: Minnie, where do you study?
11pinkpumpkin: I’m a broadcasting major in Seoul University.
11pinkpumpkin: wae?
gamekyu23: jinja? We should meet! I’m music major there.
11pinkpumpkin: I don’t think so…
gamekyu23: waeyo? I really want to meet you…
11pinkpumpkin: I can’t.. I just can’t…

And suddenly she went out? I look at my messenger to look at her status and she’s already log-out. Waeyo? Don’t you want to meet me Minnie? Why! 

I started calling her in her number but then she never answered. She even closed her hand phone. I couldn’t reach her. I became so restless. Why don’t you want to meet me? I thought we shared a special thing. I thought I could finally find love . Yah! Cho Kyuhyun why are you so being dramatic! But still, Aish! 

It’s been almost a week since I last heard from her. She really did avoid me. But still, I played Audition, hoping to see her again. Aish! 

My handphone vibrated, I was in the middle of the class so I didn’t bother to look at it first and it might be some crazy fan girl again who discovered my number. Being popular is not good but hey, as I always said. What do you expect?  I’m Cho Kyuhyun, the guy with brains, great and handsome.

After the class ended, I look at it, maybe umma and appa texted me but I didn’t expect what I saw.

Message:
If you want to meet me, meet me at the backyard of the north building. 
I’ll be waiting there. I just hope you wouldn’t get mad at me… 

What is she trying to say? Wait, what time is it anyway? Wait, my class duration is 3 hours.  Shoot! She waited for me for almost 3 hours. Aish! I quickly run hoping she really did wait for me. As I approached the back yard, I saw shadow. Slowly I look to it but I saw a man instead of a girl? Did she left already? Aish! I just turn away…

“Kyunnie~”

Whatta? I turned my back and slowly look at the one who called me that name… A man, called me Kyunnie…

“I told you… I just hope you wouldn’t get mad at me…” 

He continued. Wait, is he? 

“Minnie?”

“You should call me Sungmin…” He said a bit bluntly, not looking at me. His back is facing me.

“I’m sorry… I should have told you sooner before everything started………” He can’t continue.

“What are you saying?”

“It’s nothing… Just forget about it…. I’ll split up the couple soon. Sorry for the trouble…” he said . His face looking down as he started to walked pass me. I felt hurt. Did he play on me? But, I don’t know what came over me. I just grab him and lock him in my arms.

I felt tears flowing within my shirt. Is he crying?

“I’m sorry… I wanted to tell you when we you asked me to become your couple… I should have stopped it… but I can’t… I just can’t… I’m sorry…” He said between his sobs. I close my eyes and then just hugged him tight. 

“I think I like you Kyunnie…” 

Those words, it made me open my eyes but instead of feeling disgusted or such. I felt happy. 

“But… I can’t… I’m sorry…”

He continued. I felt disappointed. Yah! Cho Kyuhyun, What the hell are you thinking? But why does it feel so right when its wrong. 

“I like you too Minnie…”

Did I just say that? But I felt at ease. Aish! I just don’t care anymore. All I know is I want her, I mean him in my life. I just don’t care anymore.


Now, it’s been like 8 months right? I just don’t care anymore. I went to have a shower and get ready. I want to see Minnie as soon as possible. Humming to a song, I climb down the stairs. It was just a normal basis in my life. As I went to the kitchen, Sora noona is fixing us breakfast while Hyukkie hyung just waited there lazily. Totally normal, him sitting in the table with dad… totally nor- 

Whatta?

“Dad?”

“Good morning son?” My dad walked towards me. Wait, am I seeing things? Reality Check Cho Kyuhyun, you better wake up now!

“Aren’t you going to say Hi to your father who just got back from a 13 hours travel from PARIS?”

Shoot! Reality Check is finish! I am so dead! 

Level 3 Part 2: Captain's Gummy Smile (Donghae’s POV)

Hmmm, so this is Seoul University? They have the greatest facilities in Korea even in every fields of studies and that includes dancing.  Quite impressive don’t you think? And I can’t believe I’ll be studying here.

Thug!

“Sorry!” I said to the one I bumped in. As I look at him, he seems pissed off, instead of saying sorry to me or something, he just continued on. The one who is with him bowed to me.

“Sorry, about him…” He said.

“Kyunnie~” He said while catching with the guy. Ugh. Kyunnie? Seems familiar? Nah… So here I am with in the new school. This is my first day in this school. I’m going to do my best! Hwaiting!

Class ended at 1 pm, the teachers all have meeting so afternoon sessions we’re cancelled. I heard there’s gonna be dance try out to be part of Seoul Breakers. I should try right? Room, 131 in west building, woah, many people outside the room and mostly are girls. Are the girls trying out? This should take some time. I suddenly heard screams? Huh? I know that scene would always come from Kingkas like Boys Over Flowers series. I glance back and someone is walking towards the room. Everyone is screaming. Eh~ A monkey?

“EUNHYUK!” Girls screamed out . The guy just release a gummy smile and greeted them . He could be cute but he still looks like a monkey. Anyways,

“Captain. Try outs will start soon…” Someone said from inside the room. Oh, so he is the head of the Seoul Breakers?

“Who is he?” I asked one of the girls who is beside me.

“He’s Lee Hyukjae but he prefered to be called Eunhyuk. He is the only one who became in the captain in his 1st year here. He is the new captain to be exact since he was voted just last term. And He’s hot!” The girl said , almost screaming the last part. He must be quite popular don’t you think even though he really look like a monkey, a cute monkey to be precise. YAH! Lee Donghae! What you thinking? He’s a guy, plus some capture your heart right? A certain girl you callJewel….
